About the Tie Dye Jedi
A FIRST Tech Challenge team where creativity meets competition.
Our Story
The Tie Dye Jedi are the newest robotics team at STEM+C, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has inspired students through competitive robotics for over a decade.
We compete in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), a program for students in grades 6-9 where teams design, build, and program a robot to compete in an alliance-based game that changes every season.
As the younger sibling of the Tie Dye Samurai, the Jedi grow the next generation of makers, coders, and engineers — and keep the Tie Dye family expanding. We're just getting started, and there's never been a better time to join.
Why "Tie Dye Jedi"?
Tie Dye
Represents our creative spirit, individuality, and the colorful diversity of ideas that each team member brings. No two patterns are alike — just like our solutions.
Jedi
Embodies curiosity, discipline, and helping others. We approach every challenge with focus, respect for our competitors, and a commitment to learning and growing together.

Learn about FTCOur Values
Innovation
We embrace creative problem-solving and aren't afraid to try new approaches.
Gracious Professionalism
We compete with integrity, help other teams, and treat everyone with respect.
Continuous Improvement
Every prototype, every match, every season — we learn and grow stronger.
Mentorship & Safety
Our team is led by experienced mentors who guide students through the engineering process while prioritizing safety at every step. All mentors undergo background checks and training to ensure a positive, secure environment.
Students work with tools and electronics under proper supervision. Safety glasses, proper attire, and following protocols are required — no exceptions.
We believe in a student-led, mentor-guided approach: students make the decisions and do the work, while mentors provide expertise and keep everything running safely.
